About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Flexbumin Infusion contains Albumin 20% w/v, a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution of human serum albumin used primarily as a plasma volume expander in various clinical conditions. Albumin is a natural protein found in human blood plasma that helps maintain oncotic pressure and fluid balance between blood vessels and tissues. Flexbumin Infusion is indicated for the treatment of hypovolemia due to burns, trauma, surgery, or hemorrhage, as well as hypoalbuminemia associated with liver cirrhosis, nephrotic syndrome, or acute respiratory distress syndrome. It is also used during cardiopulmonary bypass and plasmapheresis to restore blood volume. The 20% concentration provides a hyperoncotic solution, effectively drawing fluid from the interstitial space into the intravascular compartment, thus improving circulatory volume and tissue perfusion. Flexbumin Infusion should be administered intravenously under medical supervision, with dosage tailored to the patient’s clinical condition and response. Caution is advised in patients with heart failure, renal impairment, or hypersensitivity to albumin products. Adverse effects are rare but may include allergic reactions, fever, or hypotension. Proper storage and handling are essential to maintain sterility and efficacy. Flexbumin Infusion is a vital therapeutic option for managing volume deficits and maintaining hemodynamic stability in critically ill patients.
