Eslo-D Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Amlodipine 2.5 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, acts by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, resulting in vasodilation and reduced peripheral vascular resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes diuresis by inhibiting sodium and chloride reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, leading to decreased plasma volume and reduced blood pressure. The synergistic effect of these two agents provides effective management of hypertension, improving cardiovascular outcomes and reducing the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and renal complications. Eslo-D is indicated for patients who require combination therapy to achieve optimal blood pressure control. It is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to either component, severe renal impairment, anuria, or electrolyte imbalances. Common adverse effects may include dizziness, hypotension, electrolyte disturbances, and peripheral edema.
