Eslo-AT Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Amlodipine 2.5 mg and Atenolol 50 mg, designed to effectively manage hypertension and related cardiovascular conditions. Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, works by relaxing vascular smooth muscle, leading to vasodilation and a consequent reduction in peripheral resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure. Atenolol, a selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker, decreases heart rate and myocardial contractility, reducing cardiac output and oxygen demand. The synergistic action of these two agents provides enhanced blood pressure control compared to monotherapy, improving patient compliance through a single-dose regimen. Eslo-AT is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, angina pectoris, and other conditions where beta-blockade and calcium channel blockade are beneficial. It is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, and severe hypotension. Caution is advised in patients with asthma, diabetes mellitus, and peripheral vascular disease. Common adverse effects may include dizziness, fatigue, peripheral edema, and bradycardia.
