Eslo-5 AT Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Amlodipine 5 mg and Atenolol 50 mg, designed for the management of hypertension and angina pectoris. Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, exerts its effect by inhibiting calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, leading to vasodilation and reduced peripheral vascular resistance. Atenolol, a selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker, decreases heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing myocardial oxygen demand. The synergistic action of these agents provides effective blood pressure control and symptomatic relief in angina. Eslo-5 AT is indicated for patients who require combination therapy to achieve optimal cardiovascular risk reduction when monotherapy is insufficient. It should be used with caution in patients with bradycardia, heart block, or severe peripheral arterial disease. Common adverse effects may include dizziness, fatigue, hypotension, and peripheral edema. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate, and renal function is recommended during therapy.
