About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Enzorex-MR Tablet is a combination medication containing Etoricoxib 60 mg and Thiocolchicoside 4 mg, formulated for the management of musculoskeletal pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute musculoskeletal disorders. Etoricoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor, provides effective analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by selectively inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2 enzyme, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain and inflammation, while minimizing gastrointestinal side effects commonly associated with non-selective NSAIDs. Thiocolchicoside, a muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory properties, acts by antagonizing glycine and GABA receptors in the central nervous system, leading to relief from muscle spasms and stiffness. The synergistic action of these two agents in Enzorex-MR Tablet offers comprehensive symptomatic relief by addressing both inflammatory pain and muscle spasm. It is indicated for short-term use under medical supervision, with caution advised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hepatic or renal impairment, and gastrointestinal disorders. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, and allergic reactions. Enzorex-MR should be prescribed at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to minimize risks. Regular monitoring and adherence to prescribed dosage are essential for optimal therapeutic outcomes.
